Our firm was built on and remains dedicated to prompt, proactive service in cooperation with our client. We try to anticipate client needs and meet them in a timely fashion and to discuss those needs in understandable English. 
- Founded Carlile Patchen & Murphy LLP in March of 1967 when Denis Murphy joined him in the practice
- Practiced as an assistant attorney general, and an associate in a Columbus business law firm before founding his own practice
- Concentrated his practice in the representation of privately owned businesses in the areas of business law, estate planning, tax and real estate
- Retired as a partner in 2007 but continues his relationship with the firm as counsel
- Present practice activity is limited by tennis, skiing, travel and family activities
- Has served on the Board of Governors of and as counsel for the Columbus Bar Association, member and chair of the Board of Bar Examiners for the Ohio Supreme Court, along with many other honors and offices
- Member of the Columbus Bar Foundation, a Fellow of the Ohio State Bar Association, and a member of the American Bar Association
- Earned BA degree from the Franciscan University of Steubenville, cum laude, and law degree from Ohio State University in 1959 where he was a member of the editorial board of the Ohio State Law Journal
