  • Practice focus:  Employment and labor litigation, housing discrimination, workers' compensation and unemployment compensation

  • Prior to joining Carlile Patchen & Murphy, served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Employment Law Section and Labor Unit of the Office of the Ohio Attorney General representing state agencies, colleges and universities in state and federal courts, and before the Ohio Civil Rights Commission, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the State Personnel Board of Review (SPBR), the State Employment Relations Board (SERB), and the Court of Claims; represented charging parties in mediations and negotiations before SERB and represented a number of state employers in arbitration hearings before independent mediators
  • Trial experience includes obtaining a defense verdict for The Ohio State University in a race and age discrimination trial before the Ohio Court of Claims;  has also handled over 30 administrative hearings before SPBR and SERB; was competitively selected as a member of the Special Litigation group that assisted the Ohio Attorney General in new, high-profile litigation;  regularly counsels and advises clients on employee discipline, discrimination, disability, age, leave and wage-and-hour matters
  • Head of Human Resources Executive Committee for Hands-On Central Ohio, which is an organization that connects volunteers and organizations to non-profit agencies
  • Member of Carlile Patchen & Murphy's Green Team
  • Member of the Columbus Bar Association and the Ohio State Bar Association
  • Member of the OSBA Labor and Employment Law Counsel
  • Recognized as Ohio Super Lawyer Magazine's "Rising Star" in January 2012 edition
  • Undergraduate degree from Duke University, Public Policy, 2000; J.D. and Alternative Dispute Resolution Certificate from The Ohio State University, 2004.
  • Hobbies include power yoga, photography and reading
